Sunday’s sprint tri at Canterbury saw 12 WTC members fly to the finish, with several age group winners and PBs, in what can only be described as slightly damp conditions (i.e. solid downpour!).  Steven Barkess won 3rd overall in 1:01:46, missing 2nd place by a whisker (10 secs). Age Group winners were Colin Reynolds, Jane Pendered, Michele Bradshaw and Ian Bracken – with Richard Allen, Matt Britton and Polly Mayers winning 3rd in their age group – well done WTC! The sun shone down on the 43 junior competitors who crossed the finish line in the Weald Tri Club’s first (Triathlon England affiliated) junior duathlon, held at Dulwich College Prep School on 17 May 2015. Children aged seven to 18 enjoyed racing in their age group, completing the ‘run, cycle, run’ course, with each competitor receiving a medal for their efforts. Parents and spectators enjoyed snacks and drinks while they cheered the youngsters on. One junior racer said the duathlon was “friendly with yummy cakes and lots of encouragement especially if you were last.” For full results and club info: Click Here
