Rye Run

OBJECTIVES
Unofficial race on the High Weald Landscape Trail for members of Rye Runners, Cranbrook Joggers, Weald Triathlon Club and 1066 Triathletes. The enjoyment of our beautiful Wealden Landscape. Collaboration with and competition against our team mates. A social gathering at the end (to include runners’ families and all running group members whether running or not). Open to all, not just the fast or experienced. Emphasis on having fun!

Sunday 12 July 2015
Start time 11am from Jockey Lane Car Park, Cranbrook.
Estimated finish 3-4.30pm at the cricket pavilion, The Salts, Rye
BBQ at the pavilion – 4pm-9pm.

RULES
There will be 4 stages (provisionally): Cranbrook to Dingleden (6.2miles), Dingleden to Tenterden (5.3miles), Tenterden to Blackwall Bridge (6.3miles), Blackwall Bridge to Rye (6.1miles) – click below to download the PDF of the 4 stages:

Although we intend to make this an informal affair, we have a sense of duty and care to our runners, hence ALL runners must run in pairs ie teams of up to 8 with two team members running each of the four legs. Runners may run additional legs if they so wish, but must be accompanied still (with same or different partner).

The route is on footpaths marked with High Weald Landscape Trail signs, but it will be unmarshalled and it will be your responsibility to find your way. We will mark the more obscure parts of the route, but we recommend you familiarise yourself with your part of the trail – see map above and the High Weald Website or OS maps.

A sash will be worn by the active runners and passed on as the relay ‘baton’.

Each team is responsible for arranging transport for their team members.

FINISH LINE
The race will finish at The Salts in Rye. The Cricket Club have kindly allowed use of their facilities, and we propose to have a BBQ. Details to be finalised, but there will be a paying bar as well as a charge towards food. All runners AND their families/supporters are welcome!

FINALLY….
Could you please register your commitment (to your respective Group Leader) as an individual, pair or whole team. Teams can be mixed gender and cross-pollination among the Clubs is also welcome!
